Our students have returned to Cambridge for the second of five mini-projects.
This project is based on a series of experimental tests of a rotating axial compressor facility. During the 3 weeks, students will assess the performance of the compressor with and without circumferential non-uniformity. These non-uniformities often arise in real machines due to “installation effects” and their impact on the behaviour of the compressor, particularly the flow rate at which the compressor stalls, is of interest.
